I agree with the microchipping as well; most shelters/pounds have scanners. But if you weren't called and the tags were still on the dog when he was found, chances are the same would happen if he was chipped.Then again, maybe the collar is missing, so the tags would be gone as well.Go get your dog before it's too late.............
