We have one too and I&#039;d hate to see him escape.If you are ever unfortunate enough to have your hamster escape the most effective means of retrieval is to build a humane trap as follows:Close all doors so that the hamster cannot wander far.
Place a deep bucket in the room where the hamster is believed to be and use some books to build some steps up to the top of the bucket that the hamster can climb.
Place some toilet or tissue paper in the bucket to provide a soft landing.
Place some food (preferably something like apple which the hamster will be able to smell) in the bottom of the bucket.
